Odor on a Gas Stove Start Up

When you first start burning your new gas stove, you’ll see smoke and detect an odor. This is a normal part of the paint curing process. If you burn your stove on high for 3 to 5 hours, this can help speed up the curing process. If you do this on a mild day where you can open up the windows, this will help air out the house. You may also notice during a new burning season, that the first time you use your gas stove you’ll smell an odor. This is also normal and will go away in a short period of time.
